This is not a postive review.....It is full of SPOILERS******I have been a big fan of L.L. for years, but in the past her writing has been really bad. I was hoping that this new series would prove that she was back in the game.
I read the fist one and I didn't really like it, so I waited on the reviews before I bought this one. Most of the reviews said that this one was better. I do not see how anyone thought this was better.
This book as so many things wrong with it I wanted to get my money back from Amazon. What was I to say? "I want my money back because the book stunk"?
What I found so strange was the love scenes...L.L. has always brought forth great scenes, but after reading this book I am starting to think that maybe she just into this anymore. L.L. couldn't decide even if the female had a gown on or short/shirt. Couldn't decide if they were on the bed or on a counter. Then the cut and paste was awful. In a couple of chapters things were repeated several times. I had to keep going back and I thought I must be too tired to read because I felt like I was reading the chapter over again. I was reading it over again because it was in there twice. The names of the guys were getting mixed up. It would have Logans name where is should of been Rafe's. The ending was awful, it was as if L.L. just got up and left the entire book. I understand that there is another book following this one, but could you at least give it some closure? The first book had a bad guy die at the end; couldn't L.L. give us something to feel that maybe the "good guys" could come up ahead?
If I had to choose between the 1st and the 2nd book I think with all of the incorrect spelling/story telling regarding the past of the family I would still say that the 1st book was better. I didn't really like the first either but it was better than Dealy sins. I was mad after I finished Deadly Sins. I would really like to have my $8.00 back, but it's not Amazons fault that it was a bad book.
I am not hopful for the next.

Another excellent book from Ms. Leigh. She does not disappoint her fans and I am looking forward to the next book!. However, some of the other reviewers are disappointing. It is extremely difficult these days to read a book that does not have typos and other editing problems but I think the publishers and editors are more to blame here than the author!
Lora Leigh is beyond a great author and this series is amazing. I gave this five stars as it has everything it claims to have and is just really good writing. Some suspense, mystery, action and hot amazing sex. Really cannot ask for anything else than that !!! Thank you Lora Leigh for another superior read.
I couldn't believe the typos and loss of facts in this book. I have read almost all of her books. I usually have no problem with the hot sex, but I actually found myself skipping whole chapters that were only sex and added nothing to the story. There were just too many things wrong with the story; the killer left Jenny tied to the bed, but she was found in a ravine, Sky's apparel changed during a scene as did her hair color, some whole paragraphs were repeated right after each other. The timelines were off too. Sorry, can't say too much good about this book, but now I'm stuck, because I want to know who the "Slasher" is.
In town to catch the killer of her foster sister Amy, FH meets the Callahans. Long suffering cousins, horribly mistreated after their parents are killed. Skye is strong, capable and falls completely in love with Logan. Throw in an adorable puppy, crazy grandparents and a charismatic Russian, this story rocked.
I love reading Lora Leigh books and feel that she does a good job with her stories however this book was a mess. I found it hard to follow the story as the character names were mislabeled, several pages of a chapter were duplicated and there were numerous errors. I spent so much time trying to figure out what she was trying to say by sifting thru the errors, that I know I missed parts of the story. I don't chalk this up to bad writing however it was horrible and sloppy editing- shame on the editors- they should have taken their time rather than rushing to meet a publishing deadline-
If I was Ms. Leigh I would be furious about what was sent out under her name.
This one was so good. You get A LOT of background story on the Callahan's and it takes you deeper into the people of Sweetrock. Logan and Skye's story captures you and you get invested into the mystery. The suspense. The love. It's powerful and strong and just like any LL book I couldn't put it down. Great installation to this series. Every time I read it I get swept into the love of the Callahan cousins and the women they fall head over heals for. But next is the sexy sheriff, Archer Tobias. 😘
That's right, you don't get to know who the killer is at the end of the book. I guess you have to be a sucker to buy the ensuing books (not me). This book is one convoluted MESS. The protagonists and their friends are supposed to be elite FBI and/or former military, etc., yet their actions appeared to be guided by Mr. Magoo himself. There are security cameras everywhere in and between the protagonists' houses, yet every time they see a bad guy sniffing around or "connecting" electronics doodads to spy on them what do they do? Go have sex. Yep, the assassin is in their midst and instead of calling the police, their badass friends or take a gun (they have an arsenal in the house), they instead go have sex. No follow up in the story to see what the heck electronic doodad the assassin connected to the house, but I guess they were too busy.
I've purchased numerous books from Lora Leigh and this book appears to have been written by a ghost writer (a really bad one at that). Save your money or, better yet, go buy Gennita Low's books.
